I'm a solar-powered, extroverted-introvert living in Houston, TX. I was born and raised in the Midwest but my love of summer and all things warm led me to more southern regions.
I love photography because images often tell stories that can't be sufficiently put into words. I began truly investing in my passion for photography in 2007, through education and internship, and then started my own business in 2009. My shooting style is calm / organic (minimal "posing" but plenty of direction), and it's always my goal to ensure that we have a good time in the process. I most enjoy capturing raw emotion, be it laughter, tears of joy, or intense thought and focus.
Since I prefer to shoot in natural light, portrait sessions are usually done outdoors (or in open, well-lit spaces) and are often scheduled to take place either first thing in the morning or late afternoon / early evening just before the sun begins to set.
In addition to being a photographer, I'm also a stay-at-home mom with a love and need for creativity. My other creative pursuits include graphic design, crafting, and woodworking.
